BIBLICAL EXAMPLE

The Bereans "examined the Scriptures daily" () — using anakrinō in its noun form — to test even Paul's preaching. They modeled Spirit-led discernment: humble, hungry, and rooted in the Word.

EXPOSITION

Paul says the natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit; they are foolishness to him because they are spiritually discerned. Discernment is not intellectual superiority — it is Spirit dependency. The same information can sit in front of a natural man and a spiritual man and produce two entirely different conclusions. This is why unbelievers cannot understand what God is doing in your life, and sometimes even mature believers miss what the Spirit is saying. Discernment is not what you have; it is Who you have. When the Holy Spirit indwells and teaches you, He sifts every situation, every voice, every offer through the mind of Christ. What looks like intuition to others is actually the Spirit of God bearing witness with your spirit.

REFLECTION

Are you leaning on natural intelligence, cultural consensus, or Spirit revelation? Where have you been analyzing what only the Spirit can illuminate?

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, You are my Teacher. Search my heart, sift my thoughts, and reveal the mind of Christ to me. I refuse to lean on my own understanding. Give me eyes to see what natural eyes cannot see. Amen.

CONFESSION

"I have the mind of Christ. The Holy Spirit teaches me all things. I discern spiritually because I live spiritually. I see beyond the surface."

PROPHETIC APPLICATION

Bring one confusing situation before the Lord today. Instead of analyzing it, worship for 10 minutes and then ask the Holy Spirit to sift it. Write down what He reveals and act on it in the next 24 hours.
