KINGDOM CONSTRUCTION — PHASE ONE: THE BLUEPRINT — WHAT IS GOD BUILDING?KEY SCRIPTURE
Audio teaching for this study will be posted soon.
HEBREW WORD OF THE DAY
דָּבָר
davar
STRONG'S H1697
Word, matter, thing, spoken instruction. In 2 Samuel 7 “the word of the LORD came unto Nathan” — the davar of God interrupts a good idea and redirects it. A davar is not an impression; it is God's specific speech.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLE
David and Nathan (; ). Compare Saul at Gilgal (), who reasoned his way into an unauthorized offering under real pressure and lost a kingdom, and Uzziah (), whose strength led him to seize a function that was never his. Also compare Peter at the Transfiguration (), whose good idea to build three tabernacles was interrupted by the Father's voice: “This is my beloved Son... hear ye him.”
EXPOSITION
REFLECTION
What am I carrying right now that God never actually asked me to build?
PRAYER
Father, I would rather build something small that You commanded than something large that You never asked for. Interrupt me where I have been sincere and inaccurate. Give me the humility to receive correction from Your word and the security to be redirected. If You must say no to my plan, let me be found trusting the house You are building instead. In Jesus' name, amen.
CONFESSION
"If God did not command it, He is not obligated to sustain it."
PROPHETIC APPLICATION
DIGGING DEEPER
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE — The permission test. 1. Name the initiative. 2. Ask: “What Scripture, instruction, or confirmed leading authorizes this?” 3. Ask: “Who confirmed it, and did they hear God or affirm my enthusiasm?” 4. Ask: “Am I willing to be told no?” 5. Write your answer to number four honestly, and take that answer to prayer.
