KINGDOM FORMATION — DAY 3KEY SCRIPTURE
LISTEN TO TODAY'S STUDY
HEBREW WORD OF THE DAY
שֵׁם
shem
STRONG'S H8034
name — the full weight of identity, character, reputation, and destiny carried in what one is called
BIBLICAL EXAMPLE
Abram → Abraham (); Simon → Peter (); Jacob → Israel (). In every case, the assignment did not move forward until the name moved forward. God refused to release the promise into the old identity.
EXPOSITION
REFLECTION
What name are you still answering to that God has already replaced? What promise is delayed because the old identity cannot carry it? **Memory Verse:** *“No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.”* —
PRAYER
Father, rename me. Strip from me every label I have inherited from trauma, failure, family, and fear. Speak over me the name that matches the assignment You have prepared for me. I refuse to carry tomorrow's promise in yesterday's identity. Establish in my spirit the name Heaven calls me by, and let me answer only to that. In Jesus' name, amen.
CONFESSION
"I am not who my past called me. I am who God calls me. I answer to the name of my assignment, not the name of my wound."
PROPHETIC APPLICATION
DIGGING DEEPER
1) What are three names — spoken by family, failure, or the enemy — that you have unconsciously been answering to? 2) What is the name God is establishing over you in this season? 3) Why does Heaven rename before it releases? 4) How did Peter's old identity (Simon) still try to operate even after Jesus renamed him, and what does that teach us? 5) Where is your assignment delayed because your identity has not caught up to the call?
FURTHER STUDY
(Jacob renamed Israel); and (Simon renamed Peter); (a renamed city); (the new name). Audio Teaching Notes: Pay attention to the moment when calling a man by his old name actually limits the prophetic flow.
