HEBREW WORD · STRONG'S H7990
HEBREW WORD OF THE DAY
שַׁלִּיט
shallit
STRONG'S H7990
Ruler; one who exercises sovereign authority; the one who has final say over a domain.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLE
Nebuchadnezzar surveys Babylon from his palace roof and boasts, 'Is not this great Babylon, that I have built?' Within the sentence, Heaven interrupts. Seven years later, a humbled king lifts his eyes and confesses in : 'He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand.' The invisible government was governing all along.
EXPOSITION
REFLECTION
1. What headline or personal circumstance has been dictating the mood of your soul? 2. Where have you unconsciously assumed Heaven was silent because you could not see the rescue? 3. How does change the way you read the news? 4. What would faith look like this week if the Most High is truly shallit? 5. Whose 'Babylon' in your life needs to be reinterpreted through Heaven's throne?
PRAYER
Father, You rule. You rule when I see it and when I do not. Forgive me for interpreting the visible without acknowledging the invisible. Anchor my heart in the truth that no crisis has escaped Your throne. Let Your government be the frame through which I read every event of this week. In Jesus' name, amen.
CONFESSION
"The Most High rules. His Kingdom governs what I cannot see. I refuse to be discipled by headlines. I am discipled by the throne."
PROPHETIC APPLICATION
DIGGING DEEPER
— the Lord has established His throne in the heavens. — the nations rage; He who sits in the heavens shall laugh. — declaring the end from the beginning. — the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord. — a throne set in heaven.
FURTHER STUDY
Read in one sitting alongside . Kingdom perception is learned. The more we behold the King through His Word, the more clearly we perceive His Kingdom.
