KINGDOM CONSTRUCTION — PHASE FOUR: THE HABITATION — TRANSITION TO GLOBAL ALIGNMENT

4% • THE DAILY FORGE

One hour. Every morning. Room for God.

Beginning November 1 • 6–7 a.m. Eastern

Daily video gathering

You're invited. The first daily video will appear here when it is scheduled. Until then, today's study is ready for you.

“Could ye not watch with me one hour?”
Matthew 26:40 (KJV)

Jesus spoke these words to His disciples in Gethsemane. His call to watch and pray inspires our invitation to spend about an hour in Scripture, prayer, reflection, and response each day.

Why 4%? Four percent of 24 hours is about 58 minutes—rounded to one hour. This is an invitation, not a rule: Matthew 26:40 inspires it, but it isn't a command for a modern daily program.

KEY SCRIPTURE

HEBREW WORD OF THE DAY

STRONG'S H8034

Name, reputation, or renown. Solomon asks that the foreigner who hears of the LORD's great name may come and pray toward this house.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLE

Solomon's temple dedication () includes prayers for Israel's forgiveness, justice, and restoration, then a prayer concerning the foreigner (vv. 41–43). Later, speaks of foreigners joining themselves to the LORD and of a house of prayer for all peoples. In , Peter confesses that God shows no partiality as the gospel reaches Cornelius's household.

EXPOSITION

Solomon has dedicated the temple, and the glory of the LORD has filled the house. Yet in the prayer of dedication he looks beyond Israel: “Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake” (, KJV). The prayer continues that people from afar will hear of the LORD's great name and pray toward this house. Solomon asks God to hear from heaven and answer, so that all the people of the earth may know His name (vv. 42–43). The temple was rooted in a particular covenant history. This passage does not erase Israel's story or claim that every nation already worshiped the LORD. It does show that God's dwelling among His people was meant to bear witness beyond them. The house was filled, but the purpose of that filling was larger than the house. That matters at the close of Kingdom Construction. We have spent the month considering pattern, foundation, structure, and habitation. We could leave with the impression that a well-built house is the final goal. Solomon's prayer asks us to lift our eyes. If the people nearby cannot encounter the character of God through what we have built, what have we built it for? If our language, leadership, and practices keep outsiders permanently at a distance, we need to revisit the purpose of the structure. Notice that Solomon does not put the burden on human spectacle. The foreigner comes because of God's name, His strong hand, and His stretched-out arm. The builders can prepare the house; only God can make His name known. A ministry aligned with Him welcomes those who come seeking Him while refusing to claim His glory as its own. Tomorrow we will examine the people within the house. Today, ask whether the doors of what you built make room for those whom God is drawing.

REFLECTION

Who would find it difficult to approach God through the way I have built, led, or welcomed?

PRAYER

Father, thank You for meeting us in the house You called us to build. Keep us from mistaking Your presence for our possession. Let what You have formed among us bear faithful witness to people beyond us. Show me where I have closed a door You intended to open, and teach me to welcome those who seek Your name. In Jesus' name, amen.

CONFESSION

"God fills His house so His name may be known beyond its walls."

PROPHETIC APPLICATION

Look at one gathering, invitation, or online entry point you oversee. Identify one unnecessary barrier for a person outside your familiar circle, and make one concrete change that opens a clearer path to Scripture, prayer, and belonging.

DIGGING DEEPER

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE — Examine the doorway. 1. Read aloud. 2. Write the name of one person or community beyond your usual circle. 3. Identify one barrier you can remove without compromising the gospel. 4. Pray for God to make His name known, then act on the step you named.
